Position Summary: Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, validating, and governing complex customer solutions during the sales process. This role ensures proposed solutions are technically sound, scalable, compliant, and aligned with both customer requirements and SG product and delivery capabilities. The Solutions Architect partners closely with Sales, Sales Enablement Managers, Sales Engineers, Demonstration & Technical Enablement, Product, and Engineering to de-risk deals and enable confident customer commitments. This role does not own delivery but plays a critical role in defining what is sold and how it will work.

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Lead solution architecture for complex sales opportunities Translate customer business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs Define system architectures, integrations, data flows, and dependencies Ensure solutions align with SG product roadmaps and technical standards
  • Technical Validation & Risk Management: Identify technical, scalability, security, and delivery risks early in the sales cycle Define mitigation strategies and alternative architectures Validate assumptions used in pricing, proposals, and delivery estimates Support POCs, pilots, and validations as technical authority
  • Sales & Deal Support: Partner with Sales Enablement Managers to support disciplined deal execution Support Sales Enablement Managers with deep technical guidance and architectural direction Participating in customer technical workshops and executive briefings Provide technical input to RFP responses, proposals, and statements of work
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management to confirm product fit and roadmap alignment Engage Engineering to validate feasibility, effort, and delivery considerations Ensure clean handoff from sales to delivery with documented architectures Provide structured feedback from the field to Product and Engineering
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, sales engineering, or systems design
  • Proven experience designing complex, multi-system solutions
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software architectures and integrations
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
  • Strong documentation and diagramming skills
Desired
  • Experience in lottery, gaming, or highly regulated industries
  • Experience supporting RFP-driven or pursuit-based sales motions
  • Familiarity with cloud, data platforms, APIs, and security frameworks
  • Prior experience working closely with engineering delivery teams
