As a technology sales professional, on the Solutions Engineering team, you will assist companies in capitalizing on emerging applications and igniting business growth by connecting people, data, and apps – quickly, securely, and effortlessly.

Our Solutions Engineer (SE) academy is designed to set you on a path towards success, beginning with a 10-week immersive training & development program to build your business acumen, sales and product knowledge, professional network, and customer-centric mindset. Upon successful completion of the training, you will transition into a Solutions Support Associate role within a major sales market and embark on a career growth journey!

Training class dates: Begins February 17, 2025 - April 25, 2024 (10 consecutive weeks - virtual, work from home)

About the SE Academy Experience :
  1. Initial 10-week immersive training, coaching, and development (fully virtual training)
  2. 2-year development program with mentorship
  3. Learn technical and sales fundamentals for success from proven sales leaders
  4. Understand Lumen's platform and full product and solutions portfolio to increase overall knowledge for go-to-market strategies
  5. Network with Sales Academy and SE class peers, sales leaders, and business executives from across the organization
Location

We are seeking candidates located in Ohio, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, Indiana, Michigan.

Work Authorization

Authorization to work in the US is required; sponsorship is not available for this program.

The Main Responsibilities
  1. Work within a collaborative team environment as part of our sales ecosystem to develop and document customer requirements, solution designs, service configurations, and project scopes of work in support of delivering network and IT solutions to business customers.
  2. Support and assist field Solutions Engineering teams to identify and develop additional revenue opportunities.
  3. Provide general discovery, support, and education to customers and internal Lumen personnel on questions or issues arising from services.
  4. Research, define, and document service change requests to support service modification.
  5. Work with customer and company personnel to identify and define technical problems, determine and design solutions, and assist customers in implementing fixes.
  6. Uncover and define customer solutions and business development strategies, including recommending and communicating technology roadmaps to business customers.
  7. Present Lumen capabilities, solution concepts, and technology roadmaps to internal and external audiences in various business settings.
  8. Participate in marketing and networking events with customer technical and business contacts.
  9. Provide feedback and recommendations to Solutions Engineering leadership on process, service, tools, and capability improvements to ensure ongoing efficiency and innovation.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Telecom, Networking, or similar (preferred).
  2. Entry-level opportunity suitable for recent graduates with less than 2 years of experience.
  3. Basic understanding of communications, cloud, application, and information technologies and design.
  4. Strong communication skills to convey business and technology concepts to diverse audiences.
  5. Comfortable speaking or presenting to groups of professionals.
  6. Sense of urgency, responsiveness, and issue resolution skills.
  7. Adaptability and resilience.
  8. Self-motivated, ambitious, and passionate, with a focus on customer service and technology introduction.
