This role reports directly to the Food Quality and Nutritional Analysis Solution Sales Specialist Manager and focuses on increasing sales of Neogen’s food quality and nutritional analysis products (e.g., Megazyme products) across the USA and Canada. Responsibilities include promoting products related to dietary fiber analysis, sugar and acid measurement, carbohydrate detection, and enzymatic assays. The candidate should possess broad knowledge of Neogen’s food safety portfolio and serve as a key sales specialist in the USAC region, working to expand market share and customer wallet share by engaging with key influencers, large accounts, distributors, and sub-distributors.

This is primarily a pre-sale business development and technical expert role, with some support on strategic accounts. It is a fully remote position within the United States, with up to 75% travel required for presentations, support, and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong relationships with client organizations at decision-maker and end-user levels, ensuring client satisfaction and proper agreements.
  • Position Neogen’s food quality and nutritional analysis products in various laboratory and production environments, targeting key accounts within the territory.
  • Understand operational impacts of quality systems and KPIs in food production and supply chains.
  • Demonstrate products through sales and technical resources, emphasizing value and differentiation to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing, portfolio management, and technical teams on market trends and competition.
  • Support sales efforts for smaller accounts, large customers, and strategic accounts as part of the sales team.
  • Provide customer data for current and potential clients to support business growth.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and associations to generate leads and promote Neogen solutions.
  • Represent Neogen FQNA solutions at events and training sessions.
  • Continuously develop product and market knowledge, and sales skills.
  • Identify and communicate product needs to marketing, R&D, and project management.
  • Manage activities in Salesforce, including calls, forecasts, and contracts.
  • Submit weekly expense reports within budget parameters.
  • Coordinate with product management and sales trainers on new product launches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Chemistry, Human/Animal Nutrition, or related fields; related work experience may be acceptable.
  • Knowledge of carbohydrates or enzymology is advantageous.
  • Certifications such as PCQI, HACCP, or similar are beneficial.
