Job summary

Sonio is seeking a Solution Engineer on the East Coast (Boston) to turn signed contracts into live deployments. You will integrate new customers, architect secure VPN tunnels and SSO, and migrate imaging data to our cloud. You will also provide ongoing support and scale internal tooling.

The role blends deep technical work with strong client interaction, requiring 3–5 years in medical data environments and solid SQL experience.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with HL7, DICOM and SQL (mandatory); Python is a plus.
• Networking and cloud knowledge, VPN experience and AWS familiarity; SaaS and EHR implementations a plus.
• Strong customer-facing communication to demystify complex tech for non-technical clients.

Responsibilities

• Own the integration of new clients from discovery to go-live.
• Connect clients securely: architect VPN tunnels and design enterprise SSO solutions.
• Migrate high-volume medical imaging data to the Sonio cloud and manage critical cutovers (EHR).
• Provide L3 support and monitoring with Datadog; perform data repairs via SQL and APIs.

About Sonio

Each year, 140M children are born. Birth defects affect 1 in 33 births in developed countries, and in 50% of cases, they are not detected during prenatal examinations. Prenatal medicine is particularly complex, and the scans impose heavy responsibilities on healthcare professionals. They can also be a source of stress for future parents.

Resulting from 5 years of collaboration between world-renowned experts from Necker Hospital and Ecole Polytechnique, Sonio uses artificial intelligence to improve prenatal screening and diagnosis. Based on patented algorithms and a proprietary expert database, Sonio aims to become the reference tool to help practitioners improve screening, reduce diagnostic errors, and optimize pregnant women’s medical path.

About the role

We launched in the US in 2025 and we’re already working with major women health groups in the US. In 2027, we’ll double our installed base and unlock new types of accounts like University Hospitals. As a Solution Engineer, you are the person who turns a signed contract into a live deployment: you connect hospitals and clinics to our platform, so that AI-powered prenatal care reaches the practitioners and the families who need it.

Your responsibilities

• Own the integration of new clients, from technical discovery (including pre-sales calls with the sales team) to go-live.

• Connect clients securely: architect VPN tunnels between client networks and our cloud, and design custom SSO solutions for enterprise clients.

• Migrate high-volume medical imaging data from legacy on-premises servers to the Sonio cloud, and manage critical cutovers for live clients, such as EHR transitions.

• Keep the platform running smoothly: L3 support and monitoring with Datadog, data repairs via SQL and APIs, and internal automation tools (EHR workflows, configuration scripts) that help us scale.

You’ll join a close-knit team where you’ll both contribute operationally and help scale what we do. It’s both deeply technical and highly client-facing. You will translate that technical complexity into a common language everyone can understand.

About the profile

Sonio is a mission-driven company so interest in our mission is critical. Other requirements are:

• 3-5 years of experience in a relevant position with deep familiarity with medical data standards (HL7, DICOM), and SQL (mandatory); Python is nice to have.

• Network and cloud knowledge: familiarity with networking, in particular VPN (a key skill we are looking for on the team), and with cloud infrastructure (AWS is a plus). Experience with SaaS software and EHR implementations is also a plus.

• Strong customer-facing skills, with a proven ability to demystify complex technical issues for non-technical clients and cross-functional teams.

• Experience in a start-up or scale-up is a huge plus.

Location: East Coast, but Boston is a huge plus.

Salary: $120,000 + 10% of bonus
