Job summary

Eightelevengroup seeks a Senior Azure AI Solution Architect to design and implement scalable AI and Generative AI solutions for a healthcare/health insurance client. Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Solution/Cloud/Enterprise Architect
• Strong Microsoft Azure architecture experience
• Deep understanding of AI and Generative AI
• Experience designing AI solutions from architecture to development
• Hands-on work including proofs of concept
• Cloud-native architecture, APIs & distributed apps
• Direct collaboration with developers/engineering teams
• Managing multiple architecture initiatives in a complex enterprise
• Strong communication across architecture, engineering and business
• Healthcare or payer industry experience preferred
• Experience with claims/clinical/healthcare systems preferred
• Experience implementing AI in regulated enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Azure AI services and Microsoft AI ecosystem
• Experience in Enterprise Architecture organizations

Senior Azure AI Solution Architect
Remote Role (EST preferred)

Compensation: $85 - $100/hr

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Azure AI Solution Architect to drive the design and implementation of scalable AI and Generative AI solutions. This fully remote, contract role is ideal for a senior-level architect with deep Microsoft Azure expertise and a proven track record in AI solution design and technical leadership. You will collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, AI enablement, engineering, and business teams to translate business use cases into robust technical designs, evaluate and recommend Azure services, and ensure all solutions meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, and integration. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between strategic architecture conversations, detailed solution design, and direct collaboration with development teams, and can quickly step into a lean environment to take ownership of complex AI architecture work with minimal ramp-up. Experience in healthcare or health insurance environments is highly preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for AI and Generative AI initiatives using Microsoft Azure
• Partner with AI enablement, Enterprise Architecture, engineering, and business teams to translate use cases into scalable technical designs
• Evaluate architecture options and recommend appropriate Azure services, patterns, and integrations
• Develop or contribute directly to proofs of concept to validate new AI capabilities
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering and development teams throughout implementation
• Support multiple AI-related workstreams and enterprise technology initiatives simultaneously
• Review vendor-proposed architectures and provide technical direction and oversight
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and integration standards
• Communicate technical designs and recommendations clearly to both technical teams and leadership
• Help establish reusable architecture patterns for future AI initiatives

WHAT YOU BRING

• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect, Cloud Architect, or Enterprise Architect
• Strong Microsoft Azure architecture experience
• Deep understanding of AI, Generative AI, and modern AI application architecture
• Experience designing AI solutions from both an architecture and development perspective
• Ability to work hands-on, including building or supporting technical proofs of concept
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, APIs, integrations, and distributed application design
• Ability to work directly with developers and engineering teams, not just at a conceptual level
• Experience managing multiple architecture initiatives or workstreams in a complex enterprise environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across architecture, engineering, and business teams
• Previous experience within healthcare, health insurance, or payer environments (preferred)
• Experience supporting claims, clinical, or healthcare operations systems (preferred)
• Experience implementing AI solutions within highly regulated enterprise environments (preferred)
• Familiarity with Azure AI services and Microsoft’s broader AI ecosystem (preferred)
• Experience working within or alongside an Enterprise Architecture organization (preferred)
