United States (Remote) Full-time Lead / Principal (10+ yrs) Remote
Cambay Solutions — a Microsoft Solutions Partner and Great Place to Work®–certified team of 350+ Microsoft specialists — is scaling its AI practice across the Microsoft ecosystem. We help clients move from AI experimentation to production, delivering Copilot agents, generative-AI solutions, and intelligent automation across Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Azure AI, and the Power Platform, including regulated and government (GCC High) environments.
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary AI Principal Architect to own end-to-end solution architecture for client engagements — translating business problems into secure, scalable AI designs, guiding delivery teams through build, and serving as a trusted technical advisor across pre-sales, roadmap, and delivery. This is a remote-first role open to candidates based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of end-to-end AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Foundry), and Azure OpenAI, from concept through production.
- Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions grounded on Microsoft Graph (SharePoint, OneDrive, Dataverse), with secure retrieval, citation-based grounding, and access controls.
- Design agentic AI and multi-agent orchestration patterns — autonomy levels, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and model selection (e.g., Azure OpenAI vs. Anthropic Claude) based on task fit, cost, and compliance.
- Define prompt engineering, orchestration logic, and conversational-design standards and reusable AI components.
- Architect intelligent document-processing and automation pipelines (deterministic rule gates, exception handling, audit/versioning) across Power Platform and Azure.
- Design AI governance and security frameworks — Agent 365 / Entra Agent ID, agent registries, DLP for AI, sensitivity labeling, retention, and Microsoft Purview posture management.
- Lead technical discovery workshops; translate business goals into solution blueprints, ROI/business cases, and implementation roadmaps.
- Support proposals and SOW scoping, level-of-effort estimation, and solution design across the practice’s AI offerings (Discovery → Pilot → At-Scale).
- Own solution architecture through implementation, hyper-care, and knowledge transfer; enforce ALM, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices across Power Platform and Azure.
- Build enterprise integrations via Microsoft Graph connectors and line-of-business systems (Salesforce, ServiceNow, ERP), Azure Functions/Logic Apps, and on-prem data gateways.
- Ensure all solutions are explainable, ethical, and compliant with responsible-AI and data-governance standards, including regulated / GCC High deployments.
- Mentor developers and consultants; run design reviews, contribute reusable accelerators, and help mature the firm’s AI delivery methodology.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the technology industry, with at least 7 years in solution/AI architecture.
- Proven experience architecting generative-AI / LLM solutions in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility (connectors, plugins, agents).
- Solid Azure solution experience — Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, App Service, Key Vault, Azure SQL/Blob, managed identities, and REST API integration.
- Working command of RAG, prompt engineering, agentic AI, and model-lifecycle concepts.
- Strong grounding in security, identity (Entra ID), governance, and responsible AI.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills across technical and executive audiences.
Required Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated or government environments (GCC High), financial services, defense, or legal/IP.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric / Power BI, Microsoft Graph APIs, and enterprise integration (Salesforce, ServiceNow, ERP).
