Job summary

Churchill Group is seeking an experienced Solution Architecture Lead to provide architectural leadership across a complex enterprise technology landscape. You will own end-to-end solution architecture across critical platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and long-term aligned solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams, and may lead a team of Solution Leads and Integration Specialists over time. DBS security clearance will be required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Solution Architecture within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms and SaaS solutions.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise application, cloud and integration architecture solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern end-to-end solution architecture across key platforms (e.g., Workday HR & Payroll, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Project Operations).
• Develop and maintain architecture artefacts (HLDs, roadmaps, governance documentation).
• Review changes to ensure security, scalability, resilience and alignment with business strategy.
• Provide architectural leadership to internal teams, implementation partners and vendors.
• Support programme delivery activities including technical readiness, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare.
• Coordinate technical decisions across suppliers and stakeholders, manage dependencies and risks.
• Establish and maintain BAU support model with clear ownership and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement for performance, reliability and supportability.
• Oversee security, data governance, compliance and access management.
• Own future architecture roadmap and cloud transformation opportunities.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architecture Lead to provide architectural leadership across a complex enterprise technology landscape. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic technology professional to take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture across a range of business-critical platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, supportable, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, software vendors, delivery partners, and internal teams, you will act as the architectural authority across the organisation’s technology estate and, over time, lead a team of Solution Leads and Integration Specialists.

As Solution Architecture Lead, you will be:

• Owning and governing the end-to-end solution architecture across Workday HR & Payroll, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations, and multiple integrated business systems.
• Developing and maintaining architecture artefacts, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), architecture roadmaps, standards and governance documentation.
• Reviewing and governing future system changes to ensure solutions remain secure, scalable, resilient and aligned to business strategy.
• Providing architectural leadership and guidance to internal teams, implementation partners and third-party software providers.
• Supporting programme delivery activities including technical readiness, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare support.
• Coordinating technical decision-making across multiple suppliers and stakeholders, managing dependencies and mitigating risks throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Establishing and maintaining a robust Business-as-Usual (BAU) support model with clear ownership, escalation paths and operational procedures.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability and supportability.
• Overseeing security, data governance, compliance and access management across the technology landscape.
• Owning the future architecture roadmap and identifying opportunities for cloud transformation, application modernisation and AI-driven innovation.

As a Solution Architecture Lead, you will have:

• Significant experience in Solution Architecture within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms and SaaS solutions.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise application, cloud and integration architecture solutions.
• Extensive understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs and interconnected business systems.
• Experience producing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and reviewing detailed technical designs.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience working with third-party software vendors, implementation partners and managed service providers.
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-focused manner.

It would be great if you also have:

• Experience with Workday HR and Payroll.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration technologies and middleware platforms.
• Exposure to AI technologies, Microsoft AI Services or enterprise AI programmes.
• Experience operating within architecture governance frameworks and technology assurance processes.
