Leidos is seeking a highly versatile and hands on Solution Architect/Engineer with broad expertise across enterprise networks, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and systems engineering. This role combines high level architectural design with deep technical implementation, requiring an individual who can define target-state architectures, build and optimize solutions, and guide modernization across hybrid and multi cloud environments. The candidate will be required to collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, cost optimized, and aligned with long term business objectives.
Serve as the Enterprise Architecture team lead; assigning and managing team tasks, conducting daily stand ups and status updates, preparing weekly consolidated reports, and delivering updates to the federal lead.
Define and develop target infrastructure architectures across hybrid and multi cloud environments, networks, platforms, and enterprise systems.
Design and implement end to end technical solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, performance, and cost optimization.
Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including evaluation of legacy systems, migration strategies, and adoption of new technologies.
Engineer and deploy solutions across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization environments, on premises datacenters, and containerized workloads.
Architect and build network solutions including LAN/WAN, VPN, SD WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, gateways, routing, peering).
Create detailed architectural diagrams, including data flow diagrams, integration maps, logical/physical infrastructure designs, and solution blueprints.
Analyze and document system and application data flows to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable communication between components.
Develop automation and code-based solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Troubleshoot and resolve escalated, high level technical issues across networking, cloud, systems, and application layers.
Evaluate and recommend technology platforms, integration patterns, and architectural standards based on business and technical imperatives.
Ensure all solutions adhere to security, governance, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Support capacity planning, resiliency strategies, disaster recovery architecture, and business continuity design.
Collaborate closely with project management team, engineering, security, and application teams throughout design, build, deployment, and optimization phases.
Produce comprehensive technical documentation including architecture designs, data flow diagrams, engineering procedures, operational runbooks, and implementation guides.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, OR in a related field and 12+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered/accepted in lieu of a degree.
12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure engineering, and cloud solutions.
12+ years in a leadership or lead architect role, including team task management, conducting stand-ups, and delivering executive-level status reports.
Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions across hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure strongly preferred), on-premises data centers, virtualization platforms, and containerized workloads (e.g., Kubernetes/Docker).
Strong background in enterprise networking including LAN/WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, VPC/VNet, routing, peering, and related technologies.
Demonstrated success leading infrastructure modernization, legacy system migrations, and large-scale technical implementations.
Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
Track record of creating high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, integration maps, runbooks, and implementation guides.
Deep understanding of security, compliance, and governance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Expertise in designing scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized architectures.
Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, cloud platforms, systems, and application layers.
Ability to analyze and document complex system and application data flows.
Experience with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Azure DevOps Expert.
Azure Security Engineer Associate.
ITIL Foundation or ITIL 4 Managing Professional.
PMP or equivalent project/program management certification.
The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between mid $150,000 to low/mid $170,000 with a slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Pay Range: $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
