Description
Our Factory of the Future Consulting team serves as a trusted partner and advisor for our diverse customer base for developing automation strategies and identifying opportunities to accelerate transformational manufacturing improvements or greenfield site builds. Our clients range from Fortune 500 teams to privately-held, single-site manufacturers across many industries such as Medical Devices / Life Sciences, Renewable Energy Generation & Storage, Mobility, Agriculture, Construction Products, Aerospace, and Industrial Goods & Products. Our project work is diverse and offers an opportunity to evaluate automation solutions across multiple technologies and solution spaces, often combining multiple technologies and manufacturing processes. While each project is unique, a typical engagement consists of an on-site workshop at our customer’s factories, followed by deep-dives into the ‘what, how, and why’ of potential automation or tooling projects. Our consulting team sits at the nexus of Invio’s entire suite of Industry 4.0 solutions and collaborates significantly with Invio’s in-house design, subject-matter experts, engineering, and estimating teams.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A Solution Architect is a Director-level role on the Factory of the Future Consulting team. You will be responsible for further expanding our consulting services into strategic verticals and new accounts. This highly visible and strategic role is for a candidate that desires to be a “practice builder”. It is anticipated that this candidate will wear many hats and play a leadership role in helping grow the Invio consulting offering. Core responsibilities include:

  • Business Development & Sales: identify new accounts and collaborate with other Invio Sales team members to cultivate opportunities. Lead the relationship development and sales efforts by understanding our customer’s challenges and proposing projects or statements of work to partner in developing a solution.
  • Technical Engagement Management: own the end-to-end delivery for your book of business and lead the team in executing the consulting statement of work. Manage cross-functional team members to ensure the overall project delivery is a success.
  • Answer Development & Engineering: take a hands-on role in crafting the overall strategy for our customers and developing the technical recommendations. Facilitate workshops with customers teams and actively drive the overall conversation and solutioning efforts.
  • Strategic Leadership & Team Building: serve as a leader within the consulting team, collaborating with internal partners to define Invio’s consulting offering strategy and growth plan for the next three years. Identify, recruit, and onboard additional team members to deliver on the overall sales goals.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive, and positive. Having a passion for exceptional customer service, business development, and client delivery is a must. Being sensitive to the unpredictable demands and uncertainties associated with consulting and sales is a requisite to delivering superior results and exceeding the expectations of our internal and external customers.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, operations, or industrial automation is required
  • Prior experience in consultative sales or management consulting is a plus

  • Ability to travel as needed to support consulting project sales and delivery; typical travel is up to ~25% per month and is commonly related to 2-3 day workshops at customer facilities or for travel to other company locations to host prospective customers
  • Position is listed as Remote in the United States, preferably within proximity to a major airport. Opportunity for in-person at any Invio facility location (MI, IL, MN, NH).

EDUCATION
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field required.
