Description

Directs day-to-day activities within the organization's application software development function.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the work of a team responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting applications.
• Works to establish functional application requirements and reviews solutions to ensure organizational needs are met.
• Selects and oversees implementation of one or more application development methodologies.
• Develops short- and long-term product roadmaps to ensure continuous improvement of applications.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination. Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers.
• Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
• Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
• Acts as a technology leader capable of grasping complex customer requirements and translating them into precise technical requirements and solutions.
• Articulates and explains complex issues in written form and orally.
• Designs and tests technical architecture and solutions.
• Creates and deploys innovative solutions for wider adoption using the latest technology.
• Ensures relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are correctly applied to solutions.
• Drives innovation through changes in methods, processes, and guidelines within the customer organization or internally.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience, including management experience.
• Experience building solutions for greater user adoption.
• Built at least three solutions supporting more than 10,000 users.
• 5+ years of experience in building productivity solutions.
