No matter what project the customer is working on – be it infrastructure modernization or application modernization – security is and will always be “Top of Mind” for our customers. We finished the year strong and have much yet to do. To meet this demand, the Application Network and Security Business is hiring!

This position offers an opportunity to join our vibrant company and become part of VMware’s Pre-Sales Engineering / Solutions Architectures team covering Americas Strategic Accounts with a focus on Federal Accounts.

In this role, you will own the strategy and execution of Security across your target accounts. While the focus is security, this role also involves engaging in infrastructure modernization and application modernization conversations, ensuring security is integrated into these initiatives.

Customers are interested in our portfolio because of its simplicity to create infrastructure with VCF and secure it without bolt-on security solutions typical of traditional vendors. With VMware NSX Security, security is embedded in the hypervisor itself, allowing you to secure VMs, Containers, and Baremetal using the same platform.

The future Security-focused team member will work with a variety of strategic accounts.

Expectations from the candidate include:

• Document and share learnings within the company.
• Collaborate with PM and engineering teams to improve our platform.
• Be a team player.

Key Responsibilities:

• Map Customer’s Security Business Initiatives to Application Networking and Security Solutions and Strategy.
• Present to customers and establish relationships with Customer Executives.
• Work with Application Network and Security BU GMs and VPs to build executive relationships.
• Provide expert technical support for opportunities involving our security portfolio.
• Lead Proof of Concept exercises for Advanced Threat and Firewall products in customer labs to validate solutions.
• Maintain deep technical knowledge of Cloud solutions, industry trends, and directions.
• Keep informed about peer and competitor products.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and Engineering during product development and refinement.
• Lead technical pre-sales discussions and facilitate knowledge sharing among VMware and Partner Subject Matter Experts.
• Document best practices and architectural references for deploying our Security portfolio.

Requirements:

• Adaptability and view change as an opportunity to thrive.
• Experience with IT automation, operations, and orchestration tools.
• Experience supporting large customers and practicing agile and continuous delivery is preferred.
• Knowledge of security and other security vendors.
• Working knowledge of VMware portfolio.
• 12+ years of experience in technology, including enterprise systems management and infrastructure architecture, with significant depth in designing, implementing, and managing critical business infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel as needed, though likely not exceeding 50%.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

The On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is $148,000 - $262,000.

OTE includes sales incentive commissions and may include equity, in accordance with relevant plans and agreements.
