Job summary

Visa is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect to blend strategic architecture consulting with hands-on AI solution delivery in the United States. You will translate business needs into scalable digital platforms, cloud modernization, and secure APIs.

In this role you will own architecture artifacts, lead reviews, and build production-grade AI systems using LLMs, RAG, and agentic patterns. The position requires 8+ years in software or enterprise architecture and fluency in English and Spanish.

Role Overview

This role combines strategic architecture consulting with hands-on AI solution engineering. The candidate must be equally comfortable defining enterprise architectures, advising clients on technology strategy, and building production-grade AI solutions. They will act as both a trusted technology advisor and a technical lead responsible for designing and implementing AI-powered systems.

Key Responsibilities

Solutions Architecture & Technology Consulting (50%)

• Assess client technology landscapes and current-state architectures.
• Design target-state architectures for digital platforms, cloud modernization, and payment solutions.
• Define architecture principles, integration patterns, APIs, security standards, and implementation roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, and vendor evaluations.
• Produce architecture artifacts including blueprints, diagrams, and technical recommendations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives and technology leaders.

AI Engineering & Solution Delivery (50%)

• Design and develop AI-powered applications using LLMs, RAG, agents, embeddings, and enterprise data.
• Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and orchestration workflows.
• Implement production-ready agentic AI architectures and automation solutions.
• Develop evaluation, monitoring, observability, and governance capabilities.
• Own solution delivery from architecture through development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Create reusable AI patterns, frameworks, and best practices for enterprise adoption.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• Strong hands-on development skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience designing large-scale enterprise software solutions.
• Deep knowledge of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and integration architectures.
• Hands-on experience with:
• LLM applications
• RAG architectures
• Agentic AI systems
• Vector databases
• AI orchestration frameworks
• Enterprise AI security and governance
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting experience.
• English and Spanish (Portuguese is a plus).

• Architect and engineer in equal measure.
• Can discuss architecture strategy with CIOs/CTOs and also review source code and implementation designs.
• Comfortable moving between client workshops, architecture assessments, solution design, and hands-on AI development.
• Able to challenge vendors on architecture while also building prototypes and production solutions when needed.
• Focused on delivering measurable business value through AI and modern software architectures.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $114,400.00 to $ 183,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
