Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Solution Architect to lead the design of satellite command and control systems and related aerospace communications solutions.

The role interfaces with customers to capture requirements, develops innovative architectures, and provides technical leadership across demonstrations, proposals, and program delivery, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Experience with satellite communications in GEO/LEO orbits.
• Knowledge of C2 for satellite constellations and data interfaces.
• TT&C and flight dynamics knowledge.
• Cloud and hybrid cloud architectures experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Active Secret Clearance required.

This position will be responsible for the solution design of Satellite Command and Control, Satellite Communications, Satellite direct to ground and Space Domain Awareness opportunities. Primary job duties will be to support sales activities by interfacing with potential customers to understand technical requirements, determine available solutions, design new solutions, and provide technical leadership in capability demonstrations, proposal development, and delivery opportunities.

Experience and Skills

• Satellite Communications in GEO and/or LEO orbits
• Command and Control (C2) of small and/or large satellite constellations
• Knowledge of data, control, and status interfaces between C2 elements
• Knowledge of TT&C and flight dynamics
• Cloud computing, data analytics, network communication, and hybrid cloud architectures
• Training and Customer Service
• Proposal and Quote development
• RF Signal Analysis: Able to characterize signal of interest performance indicators
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Current, active Secret Clearance

• Understanding of Space Domain Awareness and Electro Magnetic Spectrum Operations
• Satellite mission planning and scheduling
• Cloud-based C2 (CBC2) using micro-service applications
• Agile software development process application
• Business development, capture management, & development/delivery functions
• Digital engineering such as Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education Salary Range: $150,000-$190,000
