Job summary

TeamHealth is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Clinician (PA-C) to join our team in Blackwell, OK, with coverage at two rural ED locations in Blackwell and Perry. You will practice at the top of your scope with offsite physician support, handling high-acuity emergencies in a busy environment.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in EM, current PA‑C, Oklahoma license, and certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
• Current NCCPA PA-C certification.
• Active Oklahoma PA license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 4 years of emergency medicine experience.
• Ability to work independently in a solo coverage environment.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills and comfort managing high‑acuity patients.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical screening exams, histories, and physical assessments for patients of all ages.
• Independently evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions across all levels of acuity.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGs.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice (e.g., suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, airway management).
• Initiate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide discharge instructions.
• Stabilize and manage critically ill patients, including coordination of transfers when necessary.
• Collaborate with offsite supervising physicians as needed for complex cases.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the EMR.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
• Assist with patient flow and triage prioritization as needed.
