Konik is partnering with an established equipment manufacturer in Princeton, MN to hire a SolidWorks Mechanical Designer / Drafter. You will join the drafting team and create detailed SolidWorks models, manufacturing drawings, and documentation for fabricated components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of SolidWorks experience, with sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, and equipment design knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SolidWorks drafting or mechanical design experience.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings for sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, and fabrications.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and understand fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D SolidWorks models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Develop production-ready drawings for sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, and assemblies.
• Translate engineering concepts into accurate technical documentation.
• Prepare and maintain drawings, dimensions, tolerances, BOMs, and assembly details.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to resolve design questions.
• Support design updates, revisions, and equipment modifications through the product lifecycle.
• Assist with custom equipment design projects from concept through production release.

SolidWorks Mechanical Designer / Drafter

Princeton, MN | Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire | $30–$40/hour (Depending on Experience)

Konik is partnering with an established equipment manufacturer in Princeton, MN seeking a SolidWorks Mechanical Designer / Drafter to join their mechanical drafting team. This role will support the design and development of custom mechanical equipment by creating detailed SolidWorks models, manufacturing drawings, and documentation for fabricated components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of recent SolidWorks experience along with a strong mechanical background. Experience with sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, and equipment design is highly preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer or drafter who enjoys hands‑on collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams and wants to contribute to custom equipment projects from design through production.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Develop production-ready drawings for sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, fabricated components, and mechanical equipment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing custom equipment, machinery, or mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with pneumatics, refrigeration systems, pressure vessels, or steam boiler applications.
• Understanding of basic engineering calculations, including load calculations, BTU calculations, material strength, stress calculations, or center of gravity.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or fabrication teams.
