Job summary

SAC Incorporated seeks an experienced SOLIDWORKS Designer for its Clearfield, Utah team. Opportunity to move designs from SOLIDWORKS into fabrication while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel.

You’ll develop 3D models and detailed drawings, design structural supports and mechanical components, and prepare complete fabrication packages for complex industrial projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of drafting, design, or detailing experience.
• Experience with structural steel, fabrication, industrial construction, or mechanical contracting is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• CSWP certification preferred; CSWA considered for less-experienced candidates.
• Additional SOLIDWORKS certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SOLIDWORKS.
• Design structural supports, mechanical systems, and related components.
• Develop customer submittal drawings and detailed fabrication packages.
• Work closely with engineering, project management, procurement, and fabrication teams.
• Identify design conflicts and interferences before fabrication.
• Incorporate engineering revisions and maintain project documentation.
• Perform self-reviews to ensure drawings meet standards.
• Help improve design standards and workflows.

Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced SOLIDWORKS Designer to join our Design Services team in Clearfield, Utah. If you’re a SOLIDWORKS designer who knows the difference between making a model look good on the screen and making a model that can actually be fabricated, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Our designers do much more than create drawings. They take projects from engineering and customer submittals through final fabrication, working closely with engineers, project managers, procurement, and our fabrication teams. You’ll have the opportunity to see your designs go from the computer screen to the shop floor and ultimately into real‑world applications.

• Incorporate engineering revisions and maintain accurate project documentation
• Perform thorough self‑reviews to ensure drawings meet company and project standards
• Help improve our design standards, workflows, and processes

Requirements:

• Strong professional experience with SOLIDWORKS
• 5+ years of drafting, design, or detailing experience preferred
• Experience with structural steel, fabrication, industrial construction, mechanical contracting, or related industries is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
• A solid understanding of how designs translate into real‑world fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, project managers, designers, and shop personnel
• CSWP certification preferred; CSWA considered for less‑experienced candidates
• Additional SOLIDWORKS certifications are a plus
