Job summary

You will create 2D/3D drawings per ASME standards, apply GD&T, and work with engineers to resolve discrepancies under tight schedules.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks proficiency to create detailed engineering and/or production drawings.
• Experience turning existing 3D CAD models into 2D production drawings.
• Working knowledge of ASME drafting standards.
• Practical experience with GD&T, dimensioning, tolerancing, drawing notes, and annotations.
• Ability to interpret 3D models and translate design intent into accurate manufacturing/production drawings.
• Experience preparing drawings for fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, or production.
• Ability to work independently with limited drafting oversight while collaborating with engineers and designers.
• Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D production drawings from existing SolidWorks models.
• Create multi-sheet production drawing packages (typically 2–3 sheets).
• Develop drawings for spacesuit softgoods, including fabric components and sewn assemblies.
• Support mechanical components and potentially ground support equipment.
• Apply dimensions, tolerances, notes, annotations per ASME standards.
• Review and capture design intent from 3D models into production drawings.
• Incorporate drawing revisions, redlines, and engineering feedback.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to resolve drawing discrepancies.
