Job summary

Dover Corporation in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a CAD Designer to collaborate with engineers on 3D/2D component and assembly designs to support operations and customer requirements. You will create, maintain and support BOMs, ERP item masters, and product documentation.

The role involves CAD modeling, ERP transfers, GD&T checks, and participation in ECN/process reviews within a cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Apply CAD techniques to review engineering drawing, components, and assemblies
Work as part of a dynamic team for engineering projects related to global and regional manufacturing programs
Design special / custom products using SolidWorks to meet design specifications
Provide accurate models, assemblies, and drawings for new product development and existing products
Creation and maintenance of Bill of Materials
Responsible for transfer of product into ERP system. Complete necessary ERP item creation maintenance
Maintain SolidWorks PDM file system
Release Engineering Change Notices and process Engineering Change Requests
Perform administrative duties for the ECN process
Check drawings and layouts for accuracy, proper use of GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis
Participate in multifunctional teams, to interact with Sales, Quality and Manufacturing
Participate in DFM, DFA, DFS and design reviews when required
Provides assistance & training to lower level employees
