Job summary

Great Bay Community College seeks an instructor to teach three non-credit SolidWorks courses (NCBM 105, 106, 107) covering 3D CAD, assemblies, and design communication. The instructor will guide students through 3D modeling, part design, and manufacturing considerations.

The role involves planning lectures and labs (2 theory hours + 3 lab hours weekly), leading project-based work, and assessing progress against objectives while maintaining records and ensuring lab safety.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; bachelor's preferred.
• Proficient in SolidWorks including part modeling, assembly design, and 2D drawing creation.
• Experience applying CAD/SolidWorks in engineering/manufacturing/drafting settings.
• Working knowledge of 3D printing technologies and design-for-additive-manufacturing principles.
• Able to teach foundational and intermediate CAD concepts to students with little to no prior experience.
• Strong communication and classroom/lab facilitation skills.
• SolidWorks certification (CSWA/CSWP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering instruction across all course topics, including SolidWorks interface, tools, and workflows.
• Planning and leading a blend of lecture and hands-on lab activities (2 theory hours + 3 lab hours weekly).
• Designing and facilitating project-based assignments and design review sessions.
• Developing and administering reading activities with quizzes, lab reports, and exams.
• Evaluating student progress against course objectives.
• Maintaining course records, grades, and attendance.
• Ensuring lab safety procedures are followed.
