Job summary

Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County seeks a Solid Waste Driver I/II/III to collect residential and commercial refuse, recyclables, compostables, litter, and leaf/limb materials. The role involves operating non-CDL vehicles and keeping daily records within the solid waste fleet.

Shifts include Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, with potential holiday and varied shifts. A valid Georgia driver license is required; multiple driver levels offer increasing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Six months of Solid Waste collector, pressure washing, or sidewalk cleaning or related experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Collects refuse, leaf and limb material, compostables, and recyclables from customers and loads into collection truck.
• Maintains daily records and reports.
• Communicates with the public to provide information about solid waste programs.
• Operates and maintains solid waste equipment as assigned.
