General Statement Of Duties

This position transports waste containers for Burke County. Position requires approximately 40 hours of work per workweek.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Transports materials to and from landfills abiding by all traffic laws
• Ensures that all materials are safely unloaded and delivered at their destination
• Inspects and maintains motor vehicles and work locations daily
• Manages the equipment necessary to perform the services of this position
• Participates in and oversees the training of assigned General Services Department personnel
• Cross-train and act as backup for Heavy Equipment Operator, including operating other heavy duty equipment in the landfill operations.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Required Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one (1) to three (3) years of experience developing the knowledge and skills necessary for this position

Special Requirements (upon Hire, Unless Otherwise Indicated)

• Valid North Carolina Driver's License
• Valid North Carolina Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
