Job summary

Roane County is seeking a dependable, safety-focused individual to sort plastics and aluminum cans on the processing line and help maintain a clean, safe work area. You will operate recycling equipment as you learn the baler, assist with compactor boxes, and support the scale house as needed.

The role requires physical exertion, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Drug screen and background check required.
• Bobcat and forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort #1 and #2 plastics and aluminum cans on the processing line.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sorting line, bay floor, and surrounding areas.
• Work with participants from the Michael Dunn Work Program.
• Learn to operate the baler and other recycling equipment safely.
• Assist with changing and emptying compactor boxes as needed.
• Support operations in the scale house when necessary.
• Perform litter pick-up and janitorial tasks around the facility.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
