Job description

The prime objective of the Solid Fuels Technician is to prepare and feed the best quality waste fuel material in the safest manner to the recycling process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety First Always. Strictly adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Recycle fifty-five-gallon drums by emptying, scraping clean, smashing and loading into hopper.
  • Operates mobile equipment as needed to move materials.
  • Operates hand tools (shoves, brooms, squeegees, scrapers, etc.)
  • Monitors equipment to ensure continuous operations; investigates failures and takes correct action.
  • Responsible for inspecting mobile equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Performs minor repairs; consults with maintenance on equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoots process problems associated with field operations and equipment.
  • Responds to all incoming communications via phone, radio, and other verbal inputs are taken care of appropriately

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Experience operating mobile equipment.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Able to work overtime, all shifts, holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) lbs. independently and tolerate moderate noise levels.
