Job summary

Odyssey Logistics is seeking a Terminal Operations Manager to lead the Soldotna, AK terminal. This hands-on leadership role focuses on ownership of operations, safety, service, cost control, and customer relationships, with local growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in logistics/terminal ops, 2+ years of people leadership, and Alaska market knowledge. Relocation assistance may be available; base is competitive with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of logistics/terminal operations experience.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience.
• Prior Alaska market experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of terminal operations, labor planning, service execution, safety compliance, and cost control.
• Financial acumen: P&L, pricing levers, margin analysis, or operating expense management.
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building.
• Ability to lead changes, standardize processes, improve performance, and drive measurable results.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting systems.
• Outside sales or logistics sales experience preferred.
• Ability to become forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Lead Terminal Operations: Oversee daily terminal activity, including receiving, loading/unloading, staging, dispatch, yard activity and service execution.
• Develop the Team: Lead, coach, and develop employees including staffing, onboarding, training, engagement, and performance management.
• Drive Safety and Compliance: Promote a safety-first culture and ensure OSHA/DOT/FMCSA/HAZMAT compliance and safety standards.
• Manage Costs and Performance: Monitor labor, overtime, vendor spend, productivity, KPIs, and reporting to improve service and cost control.
• Support Customers and Growth: Build customer relationships, support local visits, gather market insight, identify opportunities.
• Improve Processes: Develop and improve SOPs, work instructions, and operating practices.
• Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with Safety, Sales, Pricing, Customer Service, HR, Finance, and Operations leadership.
