Job summary

CPI Electron Device Business (EDB) seeks an Electronic Assembly Technician specializing in precision soldering in Beverly, MA. You will build and inspect complex electronic assemblies from technical docs, read schematics and BOMs, and ensure work areas comply with 5S, safety and ESD standards.

The role requires IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications, familiarity with IPC-A-620, and willingness to support rework and temporary fixes. Export-control constraints apply; US persons only.

Qualifications

• Soldering experience and ability to perform precision soldering on SMT and through-hole components.
• Read and interpret production drawings, schematics, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain clean, safe work area per 5S, safety and ESD protocols.
• Export-controlled information access requires US person status per ITAR/EAR.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Assembly Technician specializing in soldering to build and inspect complex electronic assemblies. In this role, you will work from technical documentation and use specialized precision tools to ensure all products meet strict quality and workmanship standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Should be able to perform precision soldering on both surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components under a microscope. Read and interpret technical documents, including production drawings, schematics, parts lists (BOMs), and wiring diagrams. Maintain a clean and safe organized work area in compliance with 5S, safety, and ESD protocols.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE

• IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) is preferred.
• Familiarity with rework and temporary engineering “fixes”.
• This role requires access to export-controlled information, subject to the ITAR and EAR, for which the company will not pursue an export license/license exception. Must be a US person (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals) to be eligible for this role.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour
