Job summary

CPI Electron Device Business is seeking an Electronic Assembly Technician specializing in soldering to build and inspect complex electronic assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams, performing precision SMT and through-hole soldering, and maintaining a clean, safe 5S/ESD-compliant workspace. U.S. persons only due to export controls.

Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification required.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-620 (cable/wire harness) preferred.
• Familiarity with rework and temporary engineering fixes.
• U.S. person required due to export controls (ITAR/EAR).

Responsibilities

• Soldering of assemblies, precision work under microscope.
• Build and inspect complex electronic assemblies from docs.
• Adhere to 5S, safety and ESD in a clean work area.

Your Day To Day

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Assembly Technician specializing in soldering to build and inspect complex electronic assemblies. In this role, you will work from technical documentation and use specialized precision tools to ensure all products meet strict quality and workmanship standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Should be able to perform precision soldering on both surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components under a microscope. Read and interpret technical documents, including production drawings, schematics, parts lists (BOMs), and wiring diagrams. Maintain a clean and safe organized work area in compliance with 5S, safety, and ESD protocols.

You Will Be Accountable For

• Soldering
• Building and inspecting assemblies
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE

• IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) is preferred.
• Familiarity with rework and temporary engineering “fixes”.
• This role requires access to export-controlled information, subject to the ITAR and EAR, for which the company will not pursue an export license/license exception. Must be a US person (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals) to be eligible for this role.

Salary Range: $19.50 - $24.50 / hour
