Job summary

SMTC Corporation in Fremont, CA hires a Solderer 3 to perform PC board rework and repair, including complex tasks under a microscope. The role requires IPC-610 Class 3 soldering capability, IPC‑7711/7721 certification, and 4+ years in electronics manufacturing.

You will conduct hand soldering, epoxy application, and follow schematics with strict process adherence. The position is full-time, first shift, with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in electronics industries involving repair and rework on printed circuit boards.
• Experience in multitasking and attention to detail.
• IPC-7711/7721 certification required.
• J-STD-001 certification or pre-employment soldering test.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand soldering by utilizing a microscope to remove, install, align and straighten parts.
• Apply epoxy to PC Boards when applicable.
• Remove solder from gold plate, prepare for relating and replace.
• Understand schematic drawings and follow procedures.
• Perform such other duties as assigned.
• Complex rework such as removing and replacing IC’s, wire add, piggy back resistors.

Overall Responsibilities

Responsible for performing all tasks necessary to rework and repair PC Boards

Complex rework such as removing and replacing IC’s, wire add, piggy back resistors, etc. Have the knowledge to access company procedures and navigate shop floor controls. Ability to solder to IPC 610, Class 3.

Duties

• Have the ability to remove solder from gold plate, prepare for relating and replace.
• Perform such other duties as assigned.
• Understand schematic drawings and be able to follow procedures.
• Should have either the SMTC soldering class, J-STD-001, or pre-employment soldering test.
• Requires IPC-7711/7721 certification.

Education

• High School diploma preferred

Experience
