Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solar Technician I to join our Corsicana, Texas operations. This role supports O&M for utility-scale PV sites and substations, performing electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations under supervision.

Daily work will involve inverters, trackers, and substation equipment. Ideal candidates will have a 2- or 4-year technical degree (or journeyman) and 3+ years PV O&M or 5+ years in power plants, plus strong safety and communication skills and comfort with

Qualifications

• Possess 2-year or 4-year technical degree or Journeyman qualifications.
• 3+ years PV O&M experience or 5+ years in power plants with PV exposure.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical fundamentals and safety procedures.
• Experience with SCADA and CMMS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform/assist with electrical troubleshooting, calibration, and routine maintenance.
• Prepare switching and clearance orders and operate plant systems safely.
• Maintain documentation including Plant Orders and Operating Instructions.
• Collaborate across teams to meet safety and environmental requirements.

Education

4-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications

2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications

Three (3) or more years’ PV O&M experience

Five (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant
