Job summary

Service Robot Co. is seeking field technicians to install and maintain solar equipment across customer sites. You will work on rooftops and ground-mounted sites, following site plans and safety procedures, with paid on a per-work-order basis.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on trades experience (roofing, electrical, HVAC or similar), basic electrical knowledge, and a commitment to safety. Training through the Service Robot Co. Academy is provided, with paid first job and remote support.

Qualifications

• Experience in roofing, electrical work, construction, HVAC, or another practical trade.
• Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to learn through training.
• Careful attention to safety and signs of equipment failure.
• Comfort using ladders, wearing a harness, and working at height.
• Availability for physical outdoor work and travel to customer sites.
• Reliability and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Install solar panels, mounting systems, and wiring according to site plans.
• Maintain and repair inverters, combiner boxes, trackers, and connectors.
• Inspect systems, take electrical readings, and use thermal scans to find faults.
• Clean panels and complete scheduled maintenance.
• Follow fall protection, electrical isolation, and test-before-touch procedures.
• Record each visit with photos, readings, and repair notes.
• Explain findings and follow-up work to the site owner.
• Keep tools, meters, and protective equipment ready for use.

Training

You will complete an online course through our Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person training and the industry certifications needed for this role. The Academy is certificate training that we subsidize. Your first job is paid, with a specialist supporting you remotely.
