Job summary

Vallum Associates is seeking a Solar O&M Technician to support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial & industrial solar PV systems. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical work, rooftop system knowledge, and safety-focused procedures.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot inverters, inspect wiring and panels, and read electrical drawings. Candidates should have 2+ years of C&I solar or electrical maintenance experience and be willing to travel

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in C&I Solar O&M, solar installation, or electrical maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial rooftop PV systems and inverters.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with DC and AC electrical systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E certification preferred.
  • Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and on commercial rooftops.
  • Willingness to travel between C&I solar sites.

  • Perform electrical testing using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Support commissioning, system startups, and equipment replacements as needed.
  • Document maintenance activities, troubleshooting findings, and completed repairs.
  • Coordinate with customers, site personnel, contractors, and O&M management.
  • Follow NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Travel to commercial solar sites as required.
