Invenergy LLC is seeking a Solar Technician for the Brazoria Solar Projects Energy Center in Damon, Texas. You will assist in operating and maintaining two 200 MW-AC solar facilities, including inverters, trackers, and substations, while following safety protocols.

The role involves routine mechanical and electrical maintenance, vegetation management, and troubleshooting inverter/tracker network and grounding issues. A 40-hour week with potential nights and overtime is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of electrical/technical experience.
• Willing to travel up to 30%.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on solar, substation, and related equipment.
• Perform vegetation management and operate equipment per plan.
• Troubleshoot inverter, tracker, network, grounding, and substation issues.
• Conduct site maintenance daily with safety gear.
• Work schedule 7:00am–3:30pm with overtime and potential night work.

This position will remain open for application based on business need, which may be before or after the 3-day posting window.Job DescriptionSolar TechnicianBrazoria Solar Projects Energy CenterLocation: Damon, Texas 77430About the SiteThe Brazoria Solar Projects are two separate 200 MW-AC combined solar powered generation facilities located South of Damon, TX utilizing TMIEC Ninja inverters, NEXTracker single axis trackers, Risen and Talesun Modules. Each project also has it's own substation for management of the plant.Position OverviewAs a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in operating and maintaining the Brazoria West and Brazoria County Solar Projects.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all site solar, substation, and associated equipmentPerform vegetation management, up to operating large equipment to maintain the site per the vegetation management plan.Troubleshoot complicated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems including: Inverter faults, Tracker faults, network communications, ground faults, collection issues, substation issues, and general site performance issues.Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of all components of solar site and associated equipment.Conduct site maintenance daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.The Solar Technician will work a schedule of 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday-Friday (40 hours) and will be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and potential night work. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods.Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environmentMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year technical experience (electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.Willing to work nights during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activitiesMust be able to work outdoors in inclement weatherAbility to climb / work safely from a portable step ladderAbility to understand directions, follow procedures, and complete tasks with minimal oversightEffective communication skills both written and verbalAbility to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred QualificationsExperience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoringExperience with the operation of various SCADA systemsSkilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault DetectionStrong Analytical and Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems foundKnowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practicesAbility to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams / schematicsProficiency with MS Office suiteThis is a safety sensitive position.
