Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Safety Representative to oversee on-site safety for solar construction projects in Springfield, IL. This contract role focuses on electrical and mission-critical construction activities and driving a strong safety culture.

The role requires OSHA 30 expertise, experience delivering safety training, and a hands-on approach to risk assessment, incident tracking, and compliance with NFPA 70E. Travel to multiple project sites will be necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction site safety management, preferably solar/electrical.
• Ability to apply OSHA 30 standards on site.
• Hazard identification, risk assessment and corrective action planning.
• Experience delivering safety training to field teams on solar and electrical work.
• Ability to maintain safety documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of site safety on solar construction projects.
• Enforce safety programs and OSHA NFPA70E compliance.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Provide toolbox talks on rigging, lifting, electrical safety.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety signage and PPE resources.
• Travel to additional project sites as needed.
