Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Solar Site Field Engineer to support the construction of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure across the United States. This on-site role works on active projects to ensure quality, safety, and timely execution.

Assignments focus on the Southeast Portfolio with sites in Georgia and Kentucky; rotations every 3–4 weeks and no visa sponsorship. Competitive compensation and bonus eligible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a technical field.
  • Drone operation experience or UAS license preferred.
  • Experience in Field/Project Engineering or Construction Management in Renewables or Oil & Energy.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Ability to communicate in multi-lingual environments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inspections with local, county, and state authorities (AHJs).
  • Create First Article Inspections (FAIs) to verify construction per design.
  • Manage construction/engineering drawings and red-lines.
  • Coordinate RFIs between construction, engineers, vendors, and project owners.
  • Hold subcontractors/self-perform teams to their scopes of work.
  • Assist in drafting specs, data sheets, and pre-construction planning.
  • Maintain storm water logs and remediation records.
  • Collaborate to proactively manage project constraints.
  • Operate drones to capture progress and issues.

Solar Site Field Engineer - Southeast Portfolio

Location(s)

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Solar Site Field Engineer to support the construction of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects across the United States. This is a project-site-based role, with Solar Site Field Engineers working on-site at active construction projects to support day-to-day engineering, quality, and project execution activities.

While team members may reside anywhere in the U.S., they are assigned to project sites for extended periods based on business needs, with home trip rotations typically occurring every 3-4 weeks. This particular opening would service the Southeast Portfolio of projects, and current hiring needs are focused on projects in:

  • Baconton, GA
  • East Dublin, GA
  • Harrodsburg, KY

Project assignments are based on business needs and may change as new projects are awarded and staffing requirements evolve. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in dynamic field environments, solving problems in real time, and contributing directly to the successful delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.

This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.

Our Team

The Field Engineering role supports both self-perform and contracted construction of utility-scaled Solar and BESS EPC jobs nationwide. This role provides superior value to our customers by orchestrating seamless field operations. This is achieved through robust communication, group collaboration, and responsible, creative problem-solving, ensuring projects are constructed on time and in compliance with design, laws, codes, and requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate inspections and facilitate discussions with local, county, and state Authorities Having Jurisdictions (AHJs)
  • Create and conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) to verify that sites have been constructed to design specifications and standards
  • Document and maintain construction and engineering drawings, including but not limited to red-line sets
  • Compose and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) between construction teams, engineers, vendors, and long-term project owners
  • Hold subcontractors and self-perform teams accountable to their Scopes of Work
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications, data sheets and other pre-construction planning
  • Maintain storm water documentation logs and orchestrate respective remediation
  • Proactively manage project constraints through collaboration with project management, engineering, and construction personnel
  • Operate drones to capture construction progress/issues

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience creating reports and compiling data
  • Experience working in a team setting

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a technical discipline
  • Experience operating drones or possessing an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) license
  • Experience in Field Engineering, Project Engineering, or Construction Management in the Renewables or Oil & Energy fields
  • Experience in a leadership position
  • Experience communicating in multi-lingual environments

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $100,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
