Belmont Solar is seeking an experienced individual who is full of energy and enthusiasm to join our full-time Solar PV Installer team. This position will involve tasks such as prepping the roof or ground mount site; running wires; installing rails and solar panels; connecting meters, inverters, disconnects, panels, and routers; meeting with inspectors, and so much more. Must have a valid driver's license and live within a 45-minute driving radius. If you are afraid of heights then this is not the job for you. Serious applications only.

What does a Solar PV Installer do?

1. Load the truck and trailer with supplies
2. Travel with the crew to the job site
3. Prep the roof or ground mount site (Must not be afraid of heights) Most of our projects are roof mounts.
4. Run wires for the system
5. Install rails and solar panels
6. Attach wire connectors to the panels
7. Connect to the meters, inverter, disconnect, panel, and router
8. Cover and label the equipment
9. Meet with the inspector
10. Test the system and explain/show the customer how to operate
11. Return back to the shop, unload the truck and turn in any paperwork to the office
12. Learn to install grid tied and off grid systems, as well as roof mounted and ground mounted systems

Full-time: Year-round hours averaging 40-50 hours per week (weather permitting). As a business, you must arrive to work in a timely manner to begin work at 6:30 AM, and our PM finish time is flexible.

Pay Rate:

$25.00 to $30.00 per hour (depending on experience). A $1,000.00 Sign on bonus paid quarterly after 90-day review.

Schedule:

Day shift, Monday to Friday

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:

Construction Experience: 1 year (A Must). Solar Experience Preferred

Our requirements for a Solar PV Installer:

1. Skilled: Must be motivated, mechanically inclined, not afraid of heights (going up onto roofs) person who has the ability to handle daily physical labor. The applicant should have a background in a construction-related or mechanical position such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or other technical experience. An ability to read blueprints and use hand-tools is also required.
2. Stewardship Mindset: The applicant should care about creation, sustainability, and clean renewable energy.
3. Techy: The applicant should have a love for technology, science, and understanding how things work. We rely on technology to help the homeowner visualize the benefit of their system.
4. Growth Mindset: The applicant should have an eagerness to learn, as well as set goals and work towards them.
5. Team Player: The applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to serve others on the team.
6. Fun: Some days we hardly know we are at work. We enjoy the challenge and rewards of installing these systems!
7. Problem Solver: Every project is different and presents new challenges & problems to solve.
8. Active: The applicant must be able to lift 75 lbs, climb a ladder, use hand tools, work on a roof, navigate crawl spaces, run wiring, etc.
9. Reliable: The applicant should be on time for work, have a clean and good driving record, and be a contributor to the team!
