Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Pile Driver Operator to support solar installation efforts at sites across Utah.

The role focuses on safe and efficient installation of pile foundations, using PD5/PD10 and other equipment under supervision of the Foreman. You will read and follow safety rules, operate measuring tools, and coordinate with the piles tender to ensure accurate elevations, with daily production goals and a strong emphasis on teamwork and reliability in a demanding

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+.
• Experience operating PD5, PD10, Gayk or other pile driving machinery.
• Prior solar experience preferred.
• Proven safety track record.
• Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine properly before installing piles.
• Able to effectively communicate with piles tender before and during installation of piles.
• Set up and use lasers and use receivers properly for piles elevation heights.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Clean, maintain and conduct basic equipment repairs.
• Assist Foreman in installation of various pile types, maintenance, and greasing of pile equipment.
• Check work along the way to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure materials are plumb, level, and secure.
• Measure height, width, length, and other proportions.
• Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized.
• Ability to work with double hearing protection, including ear plugs and earmuffs.
• All other duties assigned by site leadership.
