Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Solar Operator I to operate equipment per project requirements while complying with safety policies. You will manage forklifts, telehandlers, and skid-steer/Bobcat machines, follow safety rules, and keep the work area clean and organized.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, monitoring for malfunctions, adhering to pre-task plans, and collaborating with colleagues across diverse backgrounds and levels. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Equipment certifications as required.
• Current driver's license with necessary endorsements.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to operate equipment by manipulating levers and pedals.

Solar Operator I

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Operator I that will be responsible for operating equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• A. Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project:
  • Forklift/Telehandler
  • Bobcat/Skid-steer
• B. Follow prescribed safety regulations
• C. Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
• D. Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
• E. Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
• F. Follow work plans and pre-task cards
• G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• H. All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Equipment certifications as required
• Minimum one (1) year of related experience
• Current driver's license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and detail-oriented; ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts
• Ability to operate equipment by moving levers, shifting gears, depressing pedals, and maneuvering steering wheels; knowledge of equipment and their uses; basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently with active listening and effective communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
