Job summary

Insight Global seeks an installation technician to assemble and install rooftop PV panels, assisting licensed electricians with wiring and integrating systems on site. Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills to cooperate

Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of PV equipment, installation procedures, wiring, and reading plans.
  • Proficient with hand/power tools for PV installation and basic computer literacy for company tools.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills to troubleshoot on-site with electricians.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • System Installation & Configuration: Assemble and install rooftop PV panels, ensuring systems are configured to site specifications, weather-sealed, and prepared for grid connection.

  • Electrical Assistance: Support licensed electricians with wiring, electrical connections, and integrating panels into the property's main system.

  • Quality Assurance & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with safety guidelines, company policies, and quality standards to protect crew members and property integrity.

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine system maintenance, diagnostics, and operational checks as needed.

  • Site Operations & Weather Resilience: Perform installation tasks outdoors across all weather conditions, unless environmental conditions pose an active safety hazard. Work in varying site environments, including rooftops, attics, and crawl spaces.

  • Tool & Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience using hand/power tools for PV panel installation, with basic computer literacy to navigate company tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Paycom, Field Pro).

  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work at heights on rooftops, navigate confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces), lift up to 50 lbs, and perform prolonged bending, kneeling, and ladder climbing.

  • Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot on-site issues while collaborating effectively in a team environment alongside electricians and technicians.

  • Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
