Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of solar installation experience.
• Experience installing and servicing solar PV systems.
• Experience working on rooftops, ladders, and elevated work areas.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Experience with battery backup systems preferred.
• Familiarity with Enphase and SolarEdge systems; Hoymiles experience is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and construction plans.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must provide your own basic hand tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% throughout Central Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair rooftop solar PV systems in accordance with NEC guidelines and company standards.
• Install racking systems, solar modules, inverters, battery backup systems, disconnects, and related electrical components.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on existing solar systems, including production issues and inverter failures.
• Complete warranty repairs (RMAs) and service documentation accurately.
• Conduct site assessments and verify proper equipment placement for maximum system performance.

Position Summary

The Solar Installation/Service Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role requires someone who enjoys working outdoors, has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and is committed to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair rooftop solar PV systems in accordance with NEC guidelines and company standards.
• Install racking systems, solar modules, inverters, battery backup systems, disconnects, and related electrical components.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on existing solar systems, including production issues and inverter failures.
• Complete warranty repairs (RMAs) and service documentation accurately.
• Conduct site assessments and verify proper equipment placement for maximum system performance.
• Read and interpret electrical plans, layouts, blueprints, and basic schematics.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and voltmeters.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials to job sites.
• Operate forklifts or other equipment when needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites while following OSHA and company safety standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service while representing Oasis Electrical and Sun Collectors professionally.
