Job summary

OE Solar, a commercial EPC company in New Mexico, is hiring full-time on-site solar installers with travel across the state. You will install rooftop, ground-mount, and EV charging systems per plans and NEC requirements, while reading diagrams and maintaining safety on every job.

We offer paid training and certification support, with room to grow into crew lead and foreman roles on projects powering New Mexico schools and communities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial solar, electrical or construction experience.
• Follow OSHA requirements and wear full PPE on every site.
• Ability to read electrical and construction drawings.
• Lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders and work outdoors in all weather.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Arrive on time with the tools on our required tool list.
• Professional and respectful with customers, staff and coworkers.
• Take ownership of your work and document it in writing.

Responsibilities

• Install rooftop, ground-mount and carport solar systems per plans and NEC.
• Lay out arrays, install racking systems and mounts.
• Mount modules, string and wire per the plans.
• Install inverters, disconnects and monitoring equipment.
• Bend/run conduit; pull wire and make terminations.
• Support trenching, underground conduit runs and equipment pad work.
• Assist with battery storage installations.
• Train and mentor newer crew members.

Full-time | On-site, with travel across New Mexico | Pay range: $20–$25/hr, DOE

OE Solar is a commercial EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) company. We design, build and maintain solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems for schools, government agencies, tribal communities and businesses across New Mexico. Our purpose is "Making the impossible possible for a renewable future."\ Our commercial pipeline is growing, and we need skilled installers who take pride in quality work and want to grow with us.

What you'll do

• Install rooftop (ballasted and attached), ground-mount and carport solar systems to plans, manufacturer requirements and current NEC code
• Lay out arrays and install several types of racking systems, including ballast placement and roof attachments
• Mount modules, and string and wire them per the plans
• Install inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects and monitoring equipment
• Bend and run EMT, rigid and PVC conduit. Pull wire and make terminations.
• Support trenching, underground conduit runs and equipment pad work
• Help run heavy equipment as needed
• Help with battery storage (BESS) installations

EV charging

• Install Level 2 and DC fast chargers (DCFC), including pedestal and wall-mount units
• Run conduit and feeders, and set bollards, pads and mounting hardware
• Help with charger startup, commissioning and network activation

On every job

• Read and work from electrical one-line diagrams, site plans and roof plans
• Set up fall protection and roof safety equipment
• Take photos before and after each install
• Write a daily log in CRM and upload the day's photos into a dated folder for each job
• Finish work on schedule, and leave job sites, trucks and the shop clean and organized every day
• Train and mentor newer crew members

What we're looking for

Required

• 1+ years of commercial solar, electrical or construction experience
• Safety comes first: you follow OSHA requirements and our company safety manual, and wear full PPE on every site
• Ability to read electrical and construction drawings
• Ability to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights and work outdoors in all weather
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• You arrive on time with the tools on our required tool list
• You're professional and respectful with customers, facility staff and coworkers
• You take ownership of your work, report to your supervisor and document your work in writing

Preferred

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• NABCEP PV Associate or PV Installation Professional
• EV charger manufacturer certifications (ChargePoint or similar)
• Experience with heavy equipment (skid steer, telehandler, mini excavator) or forklift certification
