Job summary

OE Solar is a commercial EPC company delivering solar PV, storage and EV charging projects across New Mexico. We seek an installer to handle rooftop, ground-mount and carport systems to NEC standards, plus Level 2 and DCFC charging installations. This is a full-time on-site role with travel across New Mexico.

You will read plans, wire and mount components, train newer crew, and document work daily in CRM. Safety and teamwork are essential, with opportunities for growth within the team.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year commercial solar, electrical or construction experience.
  • Commitment to safety per OSHA requirements and company manual.
  • Ability to read electrical and construction drawings.
  • Able to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders and work outdoors in all weather.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Punctual with tools on our required tool list.
  • Professional and respectful with customers and coworkers.
  • Take ownership and document work in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Install rooftop, ground-mount and carport solar systems per plans and NEC code.
  • Lay out arrays and install racking systems, including ballast and roof attachments.
  • Mount modules and wire strings per plans.
  • Install inverters, disconnects and monitoring equipment.
  • Bend and run EMT, rigid and PVC conduit; pull wire and terminations.
  • Support trenching and underground conduit runs.
  • Assist with heavy equipment as needed.
  • Assist with battery storage installations.
  • Install Level 2 and DC fast chargers; run conduit and set mounting hardware.
  • Commission and network activation for chargers.
  • Read site plans and diagrams; set up fall protection and safety equipment.
  • Document daily logs in CRM and upload photos to dated folders.
  • Maintain clean job sites and mentor newer crew members.

Commercial Solar & EV Installer

Full-time | On-site, with travel across New Mexico | Pay range: $20–$25/hr, DOE

OE Solar is a commercial EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) company. We design, build and maintain solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems for schools, government agencies, tribal communities and businesses across New Mexico. What You'll Do
Commercial solar PV
  • Install rooftop (ballasted and attached), ground-mount and carport solar systems to plans, manufacturer requirements and current NEC code
  • Lay out arrays and install several types of racking systems, including ballast placement and roof attachments
  • Mount modules, and string and wire them per the plans
  • Install inverters, combiner boxes, disconnects and monitoring equipment
  • Bend and run EMT, rigid and PVC conduit. Pull wire and make terminations.
  • Support trenching, underground conduit runs and equipment pad work
  • Help run heavy equipment as needed
  • Help with battery storage (BESS) installations
EV charging
  • Install Level 2 and DC fast chargers (DCFC), including pedestal and wall-mount units
  • Run conduit and feeders, and set bollards, pads and mounting hardware
  • Help with charger startup, commissioning and network activation
On every job
  • Read and work from electrical one-line diagrams, site plans and roof plans
  • Set up fall protection and roof safety equipment
  • Take photos before and after each install
  • Write a daily log in CRM and upload the day's photos into a dated folder for each job
  • Finish work on schedule, and leave job sites, trucks and the shop clean and organized every day
  • Train and mentor newer crew members
Required
What we're looking for
  • 1+ years of commercial solar, electrical or construction experience
  • Safety comes first: you follow OSHA requirements and our company safety manual, and wear full PPE on every site
  • Ability to read electrical and construction drawings
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights and work outdoors in all weather
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • You arrive on time with the tools on our required tool list
  • You're professional and respectful with customers, facility staff and coworkers
  • You take ownership of your work, report to your supervisor and document your work in writing
Preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • NABCEP PV Associate or PV Installation Professional
  • EV charger manufacturer certifications (ChargePoint or similar)
  • Experience with heavy equipment (skid steer, telehandler, mini excavator) or forklift certification
