Job summary

Better Earth in Anaheim, CA seeks an Inspection Technician to ensure solar systems are inspection-ready and to guide city/county officials through installations. You will address code issues and coordinate across teams to keep projects compliant, ensuring the fastest team in the nation.

Ideal candidates have electrical background, strong communication, and comfort working on roofs. A valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record are required, along with comfort using tech tools.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with inspectors to ensure efficient installation.
• Coordinate with coordinators and managers to align on expectations.
• Diagnose and fix code or installation issues requiring electrical knowledge.
• Set up and tie off ladders for city/county inspectors.
• Assist inspectors with accessibility problems on-site.
• Coordinate pre-inspection and on-site problem solving for compliance.

Position Summary

The Inspection Technician has the most important responsibility of ensuring all systems are ready to pass inspections; this includes walking City/County officials through a recently installed and ready-to-go solar system, and fixing any issues that may arise during the inspections!

Responsibilities

• Communicate with inspectors to ensure efficient installation
• Communicate with with coordinators/ managers
• Solve any issues that may arise regarding code and installs (this requires electrical knowledge on how to fix said issues)
  • Examples
    • Breaker swaps
    • Grounding/bonding
    • Tie-ins
    • Wire management
• Set up and tie off ladders for the city/county inspectors
• Help county/city inspectors with accessibility problems
• Coordinate and perform pre-inspection and on-site problem solving to ensure compliance with policy

Qualifications

• Some electrical background
• Strong communication skills with multiple parties utilizing technology
• Strong analytical, creative, problem solving, and interpersonal/human relations skills
• Comfortable being and working on roofs
• Work well with others that are on your work team
• Must have a valid state driver's license
• Must have a clean driving record
