Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level III

Your Impact

The Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level III performs physical labor at solar energy sites near San Antonio, Texas. Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of solar power plants, adhering to safety and professionalism standards. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of San Antonio.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment.
• Document work orders, logs, inventory, and emergency info.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, etc.
• Test and troubleshoot solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain a strong safety record, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Work independently and in teams.
• Operate and maintain a vehicle safely per company policies.

Core Experience

• 2+ years in Commercial/Industrial O&M on solar power plants preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on Solar Utility equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations (TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to escalate issues proactively.
• Ability to train and mentor apprentices.
• High work ethic and initiative required.

Physical/Work Environment

Must comply with OSHA standards, live within 50 miles of San Antonio, work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and be available for weekends, holidays, and up to 25% travel.

Compensation

$30.00-$42.00 hourly/DOE. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, holidays, 401(k), company vehicle, tools, and safety equipment.
