Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II

Join the team as a Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II at Pearce Services.

Pearce offers comprehensive engineering, maintenance, repair, and repowering solutions for wireless and wireline telecom, solar and wind projects, EV charging stations, and large-scale power assets.

Your Role

The Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II based near San Antonio, Texas, performs physical labor at solar energy sites, ensuring optimal operation and maintenance of solar power plants while adhering to safety standards. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of San Antonio.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment.
• Document work orders, logs, inventory, and emergency schedules accurately.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, etc.
• Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain a strong safety focus, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Operate and maintain a company vehicle safely and legally.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Commercial/Industrial O&M on solar power plants preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance of Solar Utility equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Station Equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI) preferred.
• Ability to escalate issues proactively.
• Ability to train and mentor apprentices.
• High work ethic and initiative.

Physical and Work Environment

• Reside within 50 miles of San Antonio, TX.
• Work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
• May require weekend, holiday, and on-call work.
• Up to 25% travel may be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
