Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance), Level II

Your Impact

The Solar Field Service Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs physical labor tasks at solar energy sites, focusing on the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants. Responsibilities include:

• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on solar utility and sub-station equipment.
• Document work orders, logs, inventory, and emergency information.
• Troubleshoot electrical components using digital meters and similar tools.
• Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment.
• Maintain safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Work independently and in teams.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally.

Core Experience

• 1+ years’ experience in commercial/industrial O&M on solar power plants (preferred).
• Experience with preventative maintenance on solar equipment (preferred).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
• Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment (preferred).
• Ability to escalate issues proactively.
• Ability to train and mentor laborers and apprentices.
• High work ethic and initiative.

Physical/Work Environment

Must comply with OSHA standards. Requirements include:

• Reside within 50 miles of Huntsville, Alabama.
• Work outdoors in varying temperatures.
• Lift/move equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Potential weekend/holiday work and on-call availability.
• Up to 25% travel support.

Compensation & Benefits
