Job summary

Origis Energy is seeking an experienced Project Leader to manage the end-to-end execution lifecycle of solar and energy storage projects from development through operations. You will report to the Vice President of Project Delivery and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates bring strong solar expertise, experience with EPC contracts, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across development, engineering, procurement, construction

Qualifications

  • Strong technical solar background.
  • Large utility-scale solar experience preferred.
  • BESS experience preferred.
  • Understanding of solar cost structure.
  • Experience in EPC contract negotiations and management.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Professional certification preferred (PE/RA).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee complete execution lifecycle from development to operations.
  • Manage EPC budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with development, finance, and contracts teams.
  • Lead kickoff meetings and drive project closeout.
  • Interface with interconnection utilities.
  • Report project status to leadership.
  • Drive value engineering and design optimization.

Position Description

Origis Energy is seeking an experienced, technically focused Project Leader to be responsible for the complete execution life cycle of project(s) from Development thru to Operations. The Project Leader will report to the Vice President of Project Delivery and other departmental leaders to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management Duties:
    • Work closely with Project Development to understand real estate, legal, environmental, permitting, constructability, and interconnection issues
    • Accountable for EPC budgets and schedules from early‑stage Development through EPC execution
    • Close engagement/support of internal Finance team
    • Project schedule management
    • Communicates critical development, design, permitting, supply chain, preconstruction, and contract milestones with all internal and external stakeholders
    • Identifies and communicates potential high‑risk items to the Management team and develops action plans to address them
    • EPC scope of work development
    • Internal management presentations/updates. Communicates overall EPC strategy/approach in close coordination with Contracts team to facilitate the EPC RFP process and selection
    • Drives the EPC negotiations to timely execution while aligning with cost, schedule, and commercial targets of the project
    • Leads kickoff meetings to transition projects from Precon through execution
    • Project status reporting
  • Engineering Duties:
    • Drive value engineering efforts
    • Coordinate with Engineering on solar and energy storage plant designs to optimize energy production vs project site constructability cost considerations
    • Manage multiple 3rd party consultants/engineers
  • Procurement Duties:
    • Coordinate with Supply Chain team to evaluate current best‑in‑class offerings from major equipment suppliers
    • 3rd Party EPC bidding and contracting
  • Construction Duties:
    • EPC contract management
    • Coordinate with construction site teams
    • Interconnection Utility interface
    • Drive closeout and turnover coordination with operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical solar background
  • Large utility scale solar experience ideal
  • BESS experience ideal
  • Comprehension of solar cost structure
  • Experience in EPC contract negotiations and management
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Technical or Business degree required
  • Professional certification (PE, RA, or other) preferred
