Job summary

Freedom Power in Orlando, FL is looking for skilled solar electricians to install electrical equipment and PV systems in residential settings. You will upgrade panels, test systems, and ensure safety on site, with a company-provided truck and local work.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical work, knowledge of local codes, and ability to read schematics. Tesla Powerwall experience is a bonus, and competitive pay with performance bonuses is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical experience with solar preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and service requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Experience bending EMT and rooftop installations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical equipment and circuits, complete DC conduit runs, and interconnect PV systems to existing residential services.
• Upgrade customer electrical service as needed — main panel upgrades and meter bases, external disconnects, and code compliance assessments.
• Perform system testing — voltage, amperage, and power tests for each installation.
• Complete commissioning and inspection checklists with precision.
• Follow and enforce safety procedures and protocols on every job site.
• Support service work orders and assist with other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Install electrical equipment and circuits, complete DC conduit runs, and interconnect PV systems to existing residential services.
• Upgrade customer electrical service as needed — main panel upgrades and meter bases, external disconnects, and code compliance assessments.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of electrical experience; 2+ years of solar electrical experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required)
• Knowledge of local electrical codes, circuits, and service requirements
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and basic one-line diagrams
• Ability to bend ½" – 1¼" EMT and install on rooftops with 10–53° pitch
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostics
• Bonus points: Tesla Powerwall experience or smart home energy management systems

The Physical Side

• Comfortable on ladders, and at heights — no fear of elevation
• Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly throughout the day
• Good with bending, stretching, squatting, and extended physical effort
• Unbothered by Texas heat (100°F+) or a cold snap — you work in all conditions
