Job summary

LA Solar Group Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, is hiring a residential/commercial electrical technician to install, wire, and test solar PV systems and battery storage, on-site at customer locations.

You will read schematics, follow NEC standards, troubleshoot, and collaborate with project managers. A valid driver’s license and US work authorization are required; benefits include health insurance, 401(k), PTO, and career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of residential or commercial electrical experience (solar and battery storage preferred).
• Familiarity with major battery systems (Tesla, Enphase, etc.) is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC codes and electrical safety best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and spec sheets.

Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and test solar PV systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in residential and commercial settings.
• Perform electrical work in compliance with NEC, local codes, and safety standards.
• Install inverters, battery backup systems (such as Tesla Powerwall, Enphase, etc.), disconnects, junction boxes, and other components.
• Wire and integrate battery storage systems with solar arrays and main electrical panels.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and system layout plans.
• Run and terminate conduit (EMT, PVC, flex) and wiring (AC/DC)
• Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting for both solar and battery systems.
• Ensure systems are properly grounded and meet all electrical and safety standards.
• Work closely with solar installers and project managers to complete jobs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all electrical and battery-related work.

• Familiarity with standard electrical tools and multimeters
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Physical Demands and Abilities

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and working in tight spaces
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditionsGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites if needed

Clean Driving Record:
A valid driver’s license is required. Candidates must have a clean driving record and be comfortable driving company vehicles to and from job sites.
