Job Overview

The Solar Electrician will perform installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and service work for residential and commercial solar projects. The position requires traveling between local job sites in a company truck, performing craftsmanship, teamwork, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar panels, ensuring optimal placement and efficient energy capture
• Wire solar panels to electrical systems, including inverters, batteries, and grid interconnection points, complying with local electrical codes and safety standards
• Test and commission solar energy systems, troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation or commissioningPerform routine maintenance of solar panels and equipment – cleaning, inspection, and optimization; diagnose and repair faults to restore efficiency
• Maintain accurate installation records, including equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and test results, and generate performance reports

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on electrical experience
• Proficiency in electrical wiring, circuitry, and systems installation with a strong understanding of AC and DC electrical principles
• Familiarity with solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, panel types, mounting methods, and system components
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel between work sites
• Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screen

Work Environment

• Primarily field‑based work at local job sites
• Must be able to work in varied weather conditions and physically demanding environments
• Must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders to assess work requirements
