Job summary

Ethical Energy Solar is seeking a Solar Electrical Foreman to lead installation crews and oversee electrical work on solar projects. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and high-quality outcomes on each job site.

The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to coach crew members while coordinating with Field Operations leadership to ensure project success and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Experienced electrical professional with construction knowledge.
  • Willing to travel locally and occasionally overnight.
  • Ability to lead and coach a crew.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee solar installation crews on job sites.
  • Ensure safety, organization, and timely completion.
  • Install PV systems using drawings and project instructions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform wiring checks.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations leadership to address training needs.
  • Coach crew members and manage timesheets.

As a Solar Electrical Foreman, you'll be the leader on the job site and a key part of making sure every installation is completed safely, efficiently, and correctly.

You'll:

  • Lead and oversee solar installation crews.
  • Take ownership of job‑site safety, organization, cleanliness, and completion.
  • Prepare, organize, and load materials for installations.
  • Manage electrical inventory in company trucks.
  • Install and troubleshoot active solar systems.
  • Install PV systems using drawings, schematics, and project instructions.
  • Install and work with AC/DC inverters, disconnects, combiners, AC tap boxes, and related equipment.
  • Check wiring, polarity, grounding, and electrical terminations.
  • Test DC/AC voltages and verify system functionality.
  • Activate and commission PV systems, including confirming Wi‑Fi and cellular connectivity.
  • Determine appropriate equipment, disconnects, grounding, overcurrent protection, and surge protection.
  • Evaluate site conditions and help determine appropriate PV system configurations.
  • Communicate directly with homeowners and answer questions about their solar installation.
  • Coach and lead crew members.
  • Partner with the Manager of Field Operations to address performance and training needs.
  • Manage crew timesheets and make corrections when needed.
  • Demonstrate system start‑up, shut‑down, normal operation, and emergency/bypass procedures.

We're looking for someone who brings technical expertise AND leadership skills.

You should be:

  • An experienced electrical professional with strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction.
  • A confident leader who can coach, motivate, and hold a crew accountable.
  • A strong problem solver who can make decisions when challenges arise in the field.
  • Willingness for overnight travel on occasion based on job site location
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA and construction‑site safety.
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering with Field Operations leadership.
  • Willing to learn new products, technologies, and installation methods.
  • Equipped with the necessary electrical trade hand tools.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel locally between job sites
  • Ability to work occasional overnight travel

You must be comfortable:

  • Working on roofs and construction sites.
  • Climbing ladders, scaffolds, and poles.
  • Working outdoors in hot and cold weather.
  • Safely handling tools, equipment, and electrical components.
