The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Design Engineer candidates to support the design of utility-scale solar projects nationwide. This role will be a strategic contributor to the growth of our Renewables Lifeline Sector. Qualified candidates will be considered to work remotely from any location in the US, or if preferred, from any of Ulteig’s existing office locations.

What You'll Do

• Develop Solar PV design/construction packages including solar array layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, system studies, and installation details for Utility Scale Solar PV systems (50-500MW+).
• Interact directly with clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Contribute to project designs within multi-discipline teams of 2-4 members, including a design lead, other engineers, and CAD technicians.
• Support early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material estimates.
• Use engineering software and Excel for designing Solar PV systems.
• Lead site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions.
• Contribute to the development of internal solar engineering standards and tools.
• Transform initial system concepts into fully developed EPC designs.

What We Expect From You

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited program.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in power systems, with solar project design experience preferred.
• Experience with CYMCAP and electrical system estimation or design is required.
• Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC standards, and construction practices is strongly preferred.
• Automation skills with Python, VBA, or similar languages are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and manage multiple projects under tight schedules.
• Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Details:

Target base salary range: $91,100 - $123,200, depending on experience and qualifications.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and up to 60 days until filled or canceled.
